Earn Energy
Lock STARDUST for 1, 7 or 30 days and get Energy, the credit that powers every Flash-01 call, sandbox run and Autopilot job.

// 01 · WHAT IS ENERGY
Credits you earn, not buy
Energy is how you pay for work on Stardust. Every request to Flash-01, every sandbox run that verifies a finding and every Autopilot job draws a little Energy from your balance.
Instead of topping up with a card, you stake STARDUST. While your tokens are locked they generate Energy around the clock, and once the lock ends you get every token back. The longer you lock, the more Energy each token produces.
It keeps things simple for teams that use Stardust every day: stake once, pick a period that fits how you work, and let Energy cover the usage.
// 02 · HOW IT WORKS
Four steps to Energy
01
Stake STARDUST
Choose how much STARDUST to lock. Your tokens stay yours the whole time, they're just held until the lock ends.
02
Pick a lock period
1, 7 or 30 days. Longer locks earn more Energy for every token you stake.
03
Earn Energy every second
Energy builds up every second while the lock is active. Claim it to your wallet whenever you like, then deposit it in the vault to spend it.
04
Unstake or stake again
When the lock ends, STARDUST returns to your wallet in one click, or you can stake it again to keep Energy flowing.
// 03 · LOCK PERIODS
Lock longer, earn more
Every day 100,000 Energy is shared between everyone who has STARDUST locked. Your share follows your stake weight: tokens × the multiplier of your lock. Longer locks count for more. The daily pool is set by the Stardust team and can be changed at any time.
1day
1× Energy
Short lock for trying things out. Your tokens come back tomorrow.
7days
1.25× Energy
A week of steady Energy for regular API work and sandbox runs.
30days
1.6× Energy
The highest rate, for teams running Flash-01 and Autopilot every day.
// 04 · THE ALGORITHM
How the Energy is split
One fixed pool, shared by weight, every second. Nothing is taken from anyone's STARDUST: tokens are only locked and come back in full, and Energy is created by Stardust out of the daily pool.
Weight
weight = tokens × lock multiplier
Flex 1 day 1× · Builder 7 days 1.25× · Core 30 days 1.6×. Longer locks count for more.
Share of the pool
Energy / day = pool × your weight ÷ total weight
100,000 Energy is shared every day by everyone still locked, every second. It never grows with the amount staked.
Lock end
end = start + lock, rounded up to the hour
At that moment the position leaves the pool on its own and stops earning. Its Energy so far stays yours.
Example · 100,000 Energy / day, three stakers
| Staker | STARDUST | Lock | Weight | Energy / day | After Carol's lock ends |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alice | 1,000,000 | 30d · 1.6× | 1,600,000 | 37,870(37.9%) | 71,910 ▲ |
| Bob | 500,000 | 7d · 1.25× | 625,000 | 14,793(14.8%) | 28,090 ▲ |
| Carol | 2,000,000 | 1d · 1× | 2,000,000 | 47,337(47.3%) | 0 · lock ended, unstake |
| Total | 3,500,000 | 4,225,000 | 100,000 | 100,000 |
The pool stays 100,000 either way. When Carol's 1-day lock ends, her weight leaves the pool on its own and Alice and Bob split the whole pool between them. A bigger stake gets a bigger slice, never a bigger pool.
The algorithm · StardustStaking.sol
// every second (accumulator, shared by everyone)
accEnergyPerWeight += dailyPool / 86_400 / totalWeight
stake(amount, tier):
weight = amount × tier.multiplier
paidUpTo = accEnergyPerWeight // you start from "now"
totalWeight += weight
end = roundUpToHour(now + tier.duration)
your Energy = weight × (accEnergyPerWeight − paidUpTo)
at end (automatic, no keeper):
accAtEnd = accEnergyPerWeight // frozen for your position
totalWeight -= weight // the others' share grows
claim(): emit EnergyClaimed(you, amount) → verified by Stardust → credited to your account
unstake(): after end only, 100% of your STARDUST backGuarantees
- No inflation: total Energy ever issued ≤ 100,000 × days, however much is staked. Nobody staked = nothing issued.
- Nothing is deducted: unstake returns exactly the STARDUST you locked. The contract owner can never move staked tokens.
- No dust: 1e30 precision, rounding only ever goes down and loses less than 1 wei. Fractions of Energy carry over to your next claim.
- Splitting doesn't help or hurt: 10 positions of 100 earn exactly what 1 position of 1,000 earns. Up to 100 open positions per wallet.
- Claims are checked against the transaction receipt and the contract's own totals before they reach your balance (seconds), and again once final on L1.

Stake, earn, claim
Your STARDUST sits in the StardustStaking contract, not with Stardust. The contract tracks every position and mints Energy straight to your wallet when you claim.

Functions

Guarantees
- Staked STARDUST can never be taken: the rescue function refuses to touch it.
- Changing the daily pool only applies from that moment on; earned Energy stays.
- Tier changes only apply to new stakes; open positions keep their lock and multiplier.
- Ownership can't be renounced, so the pool can't be frozen by accident.

Questions
How much Energy will I earn?
A fixed pool of 100,000 Energy is shared every day between all locked stakes. Your part is your stake weight (tokens × lock multiplier) divided by the weight of everyone staking. If more STARDUST gets staked your share shrinks, and if stakers leave it grows. The panel shows your live share before you confirm.
Can the daily pool change?
Yes. The Stardust team can raise or lower the daily pool at any time through the staking contract. A change only applies from that moment on: Energy you have already earned stays exactly as it was, and your tokens and lock are never affected.
What is Energy?
Energy is the credit you spend across Stardust: API calls to Flash-01 and partner models, sandbox verification runs and Autopilot jobs. You earn it by staking STARDUST instead of paying per request.
Is Energy a token?
Yes. ENERGY is an ERC-20 token minted to your wallet when you claim. Deposit it in the Energy Vault to spend it on the API, or stake it in the liquidity pool to earn USDG.
Can I unstake before the lock ends?
No. Tokens stay locked until the period you chose is over. If you want flexibility, the 1-day lock lets you unstake the next day.
What happens when the lock ends?
Your position stops earning Energy and you can unstake. Energy you already earned stays claimable.
Does unused Energy expire?
No. Energy is a token in your wallet or vault and never expires, so you can stake once and spend it over several weeks.
